Mini Bio

Shane Javier Sanchez was born in San Sebastián, Spain. He and his twin sister, Valentina, were the only children to Javier and Elena Sanchez as they were happy getting a pigeon pair their first try. They were both professional people, Elena owning and managing a drama academy and Javier a lawyer specialising in medical malpractice. It was ultimately Javier's career that had the family uprooting to New York in America after Javier was offered a position working closely with Mount Sinai Hospital that was too good a salary to pass up. Elena kept the drama academy in Spain when they moved overseas when the twins were just 8 years old, but now works teaching drama with Juilliard.

Shane and his sister were extremely close from birth, and Valentina would go on to follow in her mother's footsteps. She always wanted to be an actress, and she scored her first role on a television series when she was just 15. It was a role that she would retain until her early twenties and would gather her a large fan base. Shane was incredibly proud of her following her dreams, and she had set her sights big to gain a lead role on Broadway. She managed this just shy of their 24th birthday where she scored the role of Sandy opposite Romeo Dalton's Danny Zuko, produced by Caden Drake. Shane, on the other hand, always wanted to be a journalist and he completed his Masters of Arts in Journalism with Columbia University. As a surprise for him, he didn't end up in TV or print media, but radio and by the time Valentia scored her Broadway role, Shane was a popular and well known DJ for one of New York's biggest radio stations doing their breakfast show.

But things took a terrible turn for the worst for the twins. Valentina was rehearsing on stage one day when she suddenly collapsed and died before the ambulance could even be called. She suffered a massive brain aneurysm and died instantly, but it shook Shane's world to the very core. She was his best friend, and one of the most amazing and beautiful people. Her loss was a huge shock for all her fans, and Shane had a severe emotional break-down following her death. Prior to that (and prior to Valentina scoring the role), they had been on an extended trip home to Spain for six months to spend the remaining months of their grandmother's life as she was dying of pancreatic cancer. It was a very special time for the family, and they were all together with her when she passed. It had been an why Shane and his girlfriend at the time, Reecy Chester decided on an amicable split because Shane would be absent for a long time and Reecy was trying to chase her own career dreams. They stayed close friends, but Shane lost contact with everyone he cared about after Valentina's sudden death, barely able to face getting out of bed let alone interacting with people.

It's been a tough time in Shane's life and he had felt like he would never get through it. Eventually, with therapy, support and some medication to help him through, he got by and has returned to work and as much of a normal life as he can. He has been getting out more and socialising with his friends from work, though his health took a beating from the emotional stress and he was diagnosed with Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome, an illness not unlike the patterns of migraines. He found himself landing in the ER on IV fluids frequently due to dehydration and it put him through the wringer.

Slowly, he had pulled himself together and it was on a night out with his work mates for dinner and a bit of fun at a nightclub where Shane met Clint Chevalier, a very hot and confident guy who danced up a storm with him and then went back to his apartment for even more fun. It was the first time Shane had hooked up since he broke up with Reecy, life just exploding around him in the wake of that. He had known for a very long time he was bisexual, and he had even had a threeway with Reecy and another friend a couple of times during their relationship. Shane was a lot more reserved than Clint, especially after everything he had been through, but Clint wasn't the sort to take no for an answer and throughout the night, managed to pry Shane out of his shell and Shane didn't realise just what an impact Clint would have on him.
